Well, that’s how I feel about jewelry. My outfit wouldn’t feel complete without my jewelry. Accessories make an outfit! In today’s post, I’m going to show you how dressing with purpose and making a complete outfit with jewelry can give you confidence in your style.
When you feel confident, you get more done and others perceive you as someone who means business–someone who knows what she’s doing.
One of the main pieces of jewelry to start with is your earrings (start from your head and work down). Earrings show in pictures when only your face is visible and earrings highlight your face giving you instant brightness.
Next, go down to your necklace. Here are some general rules of thumb. Wanting to highlight your face more or are you wearing a more open neckline? Go with a shorter necklace. Wearing an odd-shaped neckline or want to elongate yourself? Go with a longer necklace. Longer necklaces sometimes help give you a more casual feel and shorter necklaces can often feel dressier or more coordinated. There are exceptions of course, but try them and see how you feel.
Then go down to your wrists and fingers. Bracelets decorate the smallest part of your body, so feel free to pile them on! Usually wear odd numbers, such as 1, 3, or 5 when it comes to bracelets. And finally, rings will get you some attention because people often notice your hands when you’re swiping that debit card, shaking hands or simply grabbing that coffee at Starbucks in the morning!
You don’t have to wear all of these items of jewelry, but play around with what makes you the most confident. I suggest starting with earrings, rings and bracelets and moving on to necklaces when you get more confident (if you’re new to wearing jewelry). Even if you’re just wearing earrings, your outfit will feel more put together. But, don’t forget your most important accessory – your smile!
